Dyno Runs

Watch a live demonstration of MINIs running on our dyno. Listen to our tech lesson on how we use the dyno to measure horsepower and torque and learn how we tune cars and ECUs using the data from the dyno.

 

MINI Car show

Each member of the ALTA staff will have a show ribbon to award to the driver of the MINI they like best. No entry required. Just park in our lot and you could win.

 

New Clubman

Rasmussen MINI of Portland will have a brand new MINI Clubman on display. Come have a seat in the new car and even put some money down on your very own.

 

Free Redbull

Have a free Redbull energy drink on us. The Red Bull MINI Coopers (those MINI’s you see around town with the giant red bull cans on the roof.) will be on hand to give free samples out to everyone.

 

Motor drive

For those who would like to go on a drive....We are planning a late afternoon drive through the country. Details will be available at the event but tentative plans are to drive out of ALTA at about 2:00pm.

 

Clubs

Meet other members of pacific northwest car clubs from PDXMINI,PSMINI, Mid Columbia Valley, Emerald MINI Club, Inland MINIs and Vancouver MINI Club. I have spoken with members of each of these car clubs and everyone is very interested in meeting one another to plan future tips throughout the Pacific north west.

 

 

 

 

Vendors who will be on site

 

Stephanie (Events Coordinator) and Roland (Head Honcho) will be down from H&R Springs in Bremerton Washington. They will be on hand to answer all of your suspension questions.

 

Dino (Sr. sales rep.) from PIAA will be on hand to show off PIAA’s new MINI specific wheel fitment and discuss PIAA’s replacement lighting bulbs for the MINI.

Representatives from MC2 Magazine will be on hand to hand out some free copies and scout for vehicles, clubs, and people for future stories.

Hey is anyone planning on making this trip?

I am going.  In fact PIR is having their grand reopening the same day.  Here is a link to the anouncement  http://www.portlandraceway.com/docs/FOPIR-reopen.pdf

I am going to try and hit both events.  I got a tentative schedule of events from John at Alta.  This is the plan from Alta..... John said I have to go with a pretty loose schedule because we still don't know what the total numbers will be. Ideally festivities will start at noonish. Feeding people and tours will be the two that could take a while. At the same time we will have a dyno tech session too. For those who want to do the drive I think we will probably pull out at about 2:30 or so. Most of our staff will stay at the shop so we will still be open for those who come later or just don't want to go on the drive. As for closing, realistically we will stay open for as long as people want to stick around.

So anyone want to go over with me?

I am going over early Sat morn.  Anyone else want to drive over?

What's going on with the car?

The same steering angle sensor issue. I haven't taken it over the hill to Rasmussen yet. But then I haven't been driving it much lately with all the snow.

Ahhhhh....gotcha.
