    What about studded tires?

What are you using for winter tires?  When you say snow tires is that referring to a good treaded studless tire?  Can you even get studded tires for the mini?  The tire shops don't seem to think so..........need to be informed, thanks.

I have a set of 195/55-16 Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50s that I bought last year. And they are awsome! I got them from TireRack.com premounted on steel rims cheaper than any place in town.

    Re: What about studded tires?

It seems to mainly be my 17" wheels that I could not get them for.  I now have a nice set of alloy wheels with new studded winter tire that I will just change over with my other rims and tires in the spring.  These are 15 or 16".   I got them in Bend at Americas tire.  I priced Tire Rack.com and with shipping etc, would have been axactly the same that I paid at Americas Tire.  My most recent trip over the pass with packed snow and snowing good was a breeze.  Even reaching 65 in spots, but I try to keep an eye on that, because even though I've been driving in this for 20 years without a scratch, I know all too well how easily a bad spot can change your situation.  Otherwise though, good grip, a little spin on the start so it has to be eased on the start with packed snow.
