    Now What?

OK so now what?  Where do we want to go next?  McKenzie again?  Crater Lake?  Noel was talking about a trip thru the mountains up to John Day.  Heck I’m up for a drive to La Pine if it is in a line of MINIs.  I think Crater Lake sounds fun, course in all the years I’ve lived in Bend I’ve never been there.  But then I never went to the San Diego Zoo either and I grew up there.

So who was a destination idea?

    Ick! [+o(] Re: Now What?

Well momma is still a little green around the edges and swears she won't make that mistake again, but I'm game just let me know when and where.

    Re: Now What?

Pick a Saturday (other than The Bend Summer festival on July 7), and a Crater Lake tour would be great.  Probably cooler than the run to the Fossil area painted hills.  Or redo the Wicked Mackenzie Run(rerun?) for those who missed it, we can't lose.

How about a unforgettable motoring experience?—LOTS of CURVES

Sorry if I missed out. We're in process moving from Bend to Sisters next weekend, so I haven't got much motoring in. Once we get settled, who's up for a Bend/Oakridge/Couger Resevoir/Mckenzie epic motoring experience, say, mid to late August? The ride from Oakridge to Sisters is THE best stretch of MINI road I know of. It would be about a four hour, unforgettable MINI excursion.

I'm skipping the Laguna Seca Historic Races this year, so August is looking very good for me to go. Guys?

The 26th or 27th are open for me. Every thing else in August is tied up. Darn!

August 26th looks good to me for "Paul's Bend/Oakridge/Couger Resevoir/Mckenzie epic motoring experience."

Sweet! I took this ride a couple of years ago on the way to an overnight mtn. bike ride with some friends. The problem was, I had my wife's Pilot, not the MINI. I was cringing watching the M3's and BMW road bikes smoothly pass me by. This road is the real deal. My thought is going out of Bend towards Oakridge would be the best route as we would be climbing up out of Oakridge to the top of the McKenzie Pass the whole time.

    Should be a winner!

Sounds like a blast !  I did the Couger Res. drive last year with the PDX club and it was a blast.  I would suggest a pre-run tho.  The road was a bit pot-holed for my drive.

That sounds like a great idea, Scott. Pick a date (Not next weekend, I'm moving to Sisters) and I should be able to make it.

    Good MINI times.

Aaahhhmmm, I thought you moved back in December.  Also McKenzie is closed because of the fire.  Thinking positive--  maybe it will improve visibility around some of the corners.  Still its one of the prettiest places in the state. Crying [:'(]

Didn't sell the house in December, but I'm glad we didn't. Had to move in the day after Christmas (It sucked), but we did great in the end. Going on our fifth move in seven years. Hopefully we can build off of the same plans out there.

What's the word on the fire? I sat out in the MINI for lunch today out at Pine Meadow and had a bird's eye view of it. Looks kinda windy up there...
