Trinity-Shasta-Lassen Run

June 23-25, 2006

Time is running out to RSVP for the Dinner Train and to make reservations at the hotels (if you want to stay with the group).

You can decide to join the run at the last minute but June and July is the busiest time for hotels and campgrounds in the area and you could find yourself without a place to stay much less with the group.

The Shasta DInner Train has a limited number of seats available to us. We are approaching that number, so if you are interested in joining us for dinner on the train (door prizes will be awarded on the Dinner Train) you should sign up by 04/20/06. Some seats may be available after that date, but there are no guarantees that there will be.

SHASTA SUNSET DINNER TRAIN

We have sent the Shasta Sunset Dinner Train payment for the RSVP's sent to me to date. They have extended our final RSVP to Monday, May 15th. We must have the final payment to them by May 24th. If you have been procrastinating, now is the time to get your payment to me. This is an event you will not want to miss. If you are planning on staying with the group in Redding and Mount Shasta, you should make your hotel reservations immediately. Both hotels will extend our negoatiated reduced room rate until they run of rooms, but rooms are running out fast.

It may be too late to join us for dinner on the Shasta Dinner Train next Saturday night, but there is still time to participate in the largest Mini-MINI Only Event in the Pacific Northwest in 2006. There will be many choices of fine restaurants to dine in Saturday night while we are on our dinner train tour and many members left behind and available to dine with. You can join us on all 1100+ miles over 4 days, or just part of the run.

We now have 32 registered cars (over 50 people) although we are anticipating 40-50 participating cars over the three-four day event, possibly including the Red Bull MINIs and staff from Niello MINI of Sacramento. If you intend on joining please fax me pages 1 & 3 of the registration forms at (707) 837-9836 or bring the signed release forms with you and delivered them to Norm or me. Remember, those arriving in the Santa Rosa-Healdsburg area Thursday night, we are meeting on the Green in Old Town Windsor for a concert and dinner to kick off this event.

We will likely have television coverage when entering Redding at 6:00pm Friday night, so those interested in arriving into town to TV cameras should meet the Healdsburg group outside of town.

This is going to be one great run!

Just in case someone is interested, this run was over 1100 miles over a three day period at temperatures as high as 119. We had 40+ participating cars and over 70 people. The second half of our REME 2006 MINI Mountain Tour is over Labor Day weekend in the Tahoe area. There will be another 3 days of driving mountain roads at a more relaxed pace.
